Is handicapped parking available?

Yes, a handicapped parking lot is available which is closer than general parking, however there are limited spaces available. A drop off location is available at the front of this area if adequate parking is not available. This location may be used for drop off for handicap while the car is being parked. Just a reminder, the majority of the air show is grass. Scooters and wheelchairs are not available for rent. Handicapped port-a-lets are available.

Are strollers or wheelchairs available for rent at the show?

No, strollers and wheelchairs are permitted but not provided or available for rent.

Are pets allowed on the airport grounds?

No, pets are NOT allowed other than service animals.

Is smoking permitted?

Only airplanes are permitted to smoke on Indianapolis Airport property.

How much is parking?

On-site parking is provided at no additional cost to air show spectators.

Can we watch the show from our car?

FAA regulations and safety concerns prohibit the Indianapolis Air Show from allowing spectators to stay in their vehicles during the air show. All spectators will be required to enter the air show gates once their vehicles are parked.

May I purchase advance tickets to the air show?

Yes, discount advance sale tickets are available at Indiana Marsh Supermarkets, Main Street Markets, United Package Liquor and online.

Does one ticket work for the entire weekend or for just one day?

Each ticket is good for one day only — media & practice day (Friday), or one day of the air show (Saturday or Sunday). New tickets would be needed for any additional day(s) you wish to attend.

Where can I purchase tickets?

Tickets are available at our air show office located at Indiana Marsh Supermarkets, Main Street Markets, United Package Liquor, online and at the gate the day of the show.

May I upgrade my ticket the day of the event or do I have to purchase these tickets prior to the show?

The Aviators Club and the Sun Tables will offer any available seats for purchase the day of the event at their tents. It is our recommendation to purchase any upgraded seating prior to the event to ensure you are able to obtain the quantity of tickets needed for a particular area. Our upgraded seating areas fill up very quickly and might possibly sell out prior to the show.

At what time do the gates open and close?

For the Friday Practice and Media Day, the gates open at 10:00 AM and close at 4:00 PM Practice is scheduled from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, weather and schedule permitting. For Saturday and Sunday, the gates are open from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. The Indianapolis Air Show begins at 11:00 AM and will conclude by 5:00 PM, schedule permitting.

What camping opportunities are available?

Onsite camping is not allowed to the general public at the Indianapolis Air Show. Nearby camping is available at the KOA. Phone: 317-894-1397.

I’m a pilot and own a small plane. Can I fly-in to the show?

Yes. Fly-In Information: a Pilot Handbook (PDF, 378 KB) is available for download. Ultralight information is available too.

May I bring lawn chairs, blankets or coolers?

Yes, these items are permitted and recommended for general spectator seating. These items are subject to search. If you have purchased an upgraded flight line ticket (Aviators Club or Sun Tables) or have a Sponsor or Chalet ticket, seating will be provided in these areas and you will not need to bring your own. Coolers must be under 14” long and are subject to search.

Can we bring a pop up tent?

No, due to safety concerns, pop uptents are not permitted. Personal umbrellas are allowed, but please donot bring beach umbrellas or canopies as the can blow and become dangerous.

Are roller skates, skateboards, bikes, or personal golf carts permitted on the airport grounds?

No, none of these items are permitted due to security and safety restrictions.

Other than the air show, what other attractions will be at the Indianapolis Air Show?

The Indianapolis Air Show provides an entire weekend of fabulous entertainment and things to do. In addition to an incredible airshow, spectators can enjoy an antique and classic car show, a WWII military encampment, vendors, a fly-in, static aircraft and many other displays and exhibits. Come early and experience a full day of safe, family entertainment.

Are Trams Available?

No. There is not a method of group transportation provided at the Indianapolis Air Show. Handicapped & Elderly Courtesy Golf Carts are available at the ticket entries to help transport individuals and their families who require assistance. Should you need help, please look forone of these carts and let them know where you would like to go. After the show, they will be available on the ramps to help get you back to the gates as well - as available.

What happens if it rains?

We always hope for beautiful weather during air show weekend. The airshow gates will open during the designated times and all ground activities will be open for spectators to enjoy, regardless of the weather conditions. Air Show Performers have high, low and flat shows for varying weather conditions. It is always our desire to have the aerial portion of the show take place. If bad weather is present at the start time, it will be monitored to see if flying will be possible later. Any amount of performance that can take place will happen, but is 100% dependant on the weather conditions. There are no refunds and no rain dates for the event.
