Thrivent Financial Volunteers Spread Their Wings of Support
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans celebrates fifth year with Indianapolis Air Show
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — July 6, 2007 — For the past four years, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans volunteers have proven to be a significant resource to the Indianapolis Air Show and this year is no exception.
Thrivent Financial members have contributed nearly 25,000 volunteer hours to the event benefiting Riley Hospital for Children since 2003, and staff say Thrivent Financial is once again excited to provide significant financial and volunteer support for the hospital. On August 25-26, 2007, nearly 1,000 Thrivent Financial volunteers will have the opportunity to give back to Riley Hospital for Children.
“As a financial services membership organization, Thrivent Financial has unique opportunities to foster meaningful volunteer activities and make a difference in the communities we serve,” said Dale Oelker, Manager of Lutheran Community Services for the Indiana Region of Thrivent Financial. “The Indianapolis Air Show provides a meaningful way for volunteers to help Riley Hospital for Children and experience the excitement of one of the nation’s greatest air shows.”
Oelker says the venue offers Thrivent Financial representatives and volunteers an excellent opportunity to have fun and support the community. Thrivent volunteers staff a number of areas throughout the show, including gate admissions, parking, grandstand admissions and the special flight line chalets.

Proceeds from the Air Show benefit Riley Hospital for Children. Last year, this support totaled more than $135,000.
