Indianapolis Air Show Chosen as #1 Show in the Nation
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — December 20, 2005 — After thrilling Americans with spectacular stunts and maneuvers at some of the best venues in the country, the United States Navy Blue Angels selected the Indianapolis Air Show as the group’s “Show of the Year.” The Indianapolis event beat out 34 others because of hospitality, thorough planning and year-round support.
Transporting airplanes, equipment and Blue Angels officers for five days required a tremendous amount of coordination, and the team must rely on local air show coordinators for a smooth event.
“Indianapolis was chosen because, from top to bottom they provided us with the best support all year,” said Lt. Garrett Kasper, Blue Angels officer. “By paying attention to detail, the air show coordinators allowed the team to focus on what they needed to do — put on a safe and entertaining show for everyone.”
The Blue Angels presented the award to Indianapolis Air Show coordinators at the International Council of Air Shows annual convention in Orlando, Florida.
“We created this award to recognize an air show role model and what happened in Indianapolis is what we want to happen at every air show that we visit in 2006.” said Kasper.
