U.S. Navy Blue Angels Headlining June 5, 6 And 7 Event Benefiting Children’s Charities In Central Indiana

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – The 2009 Indianapolis Air Show is excited to announce two “firsts” for the June 5, 6 and 7 family-friendly event that benefits children’s charities: the brand-new Coloring & Art Contest for kids, and an appearance by Miss Indiana USA® and Miss Indiana Teen USA®!

Children from all over the state – ages four to 18 – are encouraged to participate in the IAS Coloring & Art Contest, and they can begin sending their entries in right away. The top 20 winners – announced on the IAS web site on May 25 – will each receive two children’s tickets to the air show, as well as a $1 coupon for Monkey Joe’s, an indoor playground in Indianapolis.

To get a copy of the entry form, go to the IAS Coloring Contest page. You can also pick one up at Monkey Joe’s, all Family Horizons Credit Union locations and Indianapolis-Marion Co. Public Library branches. On the entry form, you’ll see that contestants are asked to either color a picture of this year’s headlining performers, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, or to draw one of their own! The deadline for the contest is May 15.

Another fresh addition to the IAS in 2009 is a visit from both Miss Indiana USA® and Miss Indiana Teen USA®. Courtini Hall of Crawfordsville and Bailee Zimmerman of Brownsburg will be at the show on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. They will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.

Discounted tickets to this year’s Indianapolis Air Show are now available at all Marsh and United Package Liquors stores. You can also get discounted tickets ahead of time here.

Joining the Navy’s Blue Angels at the event, which benefits children’s charities through the Central Indiana Community Foundation, will be the U.S. Army Golden Knights, the U.S. Marines MV-22 Osprey and additional military aircraft.

Also confirmed is the American Icon Tour, various bombers, fighter jets and numerous civilian acts featuring wingwalkers, pyrotechnicans and more that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
