Aerobatic Pilots, Others Added To Already Impressive 2007 Indianapolis Air Show Line-Up

Blue Angels, Leap Frogs headline charity event that promises high-flying fun for the whole family

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — May 04, 2007 — Every summer, families travel from all over the country to soak in the sights and sounds of the Indianapolis Air Show at Mt. Comfort Airport. And with a line-up for the show like this year’s, it’s easy to understand why.

The 2007 Indianapolis Air Show, set to take to the skies Aug. 25 and 26, has secured the US Navy Blue Angels as its headlining flight performers, with the Navy’s parachute team — the Leap Frogs — also joining the excitement.

Newly announced additions to the 2007 show include famous aerobatic pilots Sean D. Tucker and Team Oracle, Greg Koontz, Lucas Oil-sponsored Mike Wiskus and Geico’s Tim Weber. Backward, tail-first flying, loops, vertical rolls and high-speed aerial climbs are just some of the extraordinary feats that these experienced pilots will execute.

At this year’s air show, the Air Force Reserve Jet Car will also be on hand to thrill the crowds. This car literally races an aircraft — at speeds close to 400 MPH! Can it win?

Rob Reider will once again return as the announcer for the 2007 event. The preeminent voice of the Air Show circuit, Reider will be heard throughout Mt. Comfort Airport not only during the performances mentioned above, but also when families are enjoying the balloonathon, military history exhibit, photography contest, and Warbirds displays.

A symposium and golf classic are also planned in conjunction with the 2007 Air Show. Details on these special events will be released as they are finalized.

Net proceeds from the Indianapolis Air Show go to Riley Hospital for Children, through the generosity of a Central Indiana Community Foundation fund. In 2006, the Air Show donated more than $130,000 to the hospital, bringing its total contribution to more than $1 million since the show’s inception in 1997.
