F-22A Raptors to headline 2008 Indy Air Show
MOUNT COMFORT, IN — February 21, 2008 — Headlining this year’s Indianapolis Air Show will be The U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command F-22A Demonstration Team.
The F-22A Raptor is the Air Force’s newest, most advanced fighter jet. At the air show, the demonstration team will perform precision aerial maneuvers.
“The Raptors are among the most sought-after performers on the air show circuit, and we are excited to be on their schedule this year,” Tom McCord, general manager of the air show, said in a news release. “These next generation air fighters are a sight to behold and having them top the list of our incredible performers is just about as good as it gets.”
This year’s air show is scheduled for Aug. 22-24 at Mt. Comfort Airport. The F-22A Raptors top an early list of performers that also includes the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights parachute team and many world- class civilian aerobatic entertainers.
Net proceeds from the air show go to the Central Indiana Community Foundation. The air show has donated more than $1.3 million to children’s charities since the show’s inception in 1997.
